ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Don Bosco College Golaghat (DBCG) promotes high quality education for all sections of the society in Assam State. It is part of the Worldwide Don Bosco Organizations and educational institutions run and managed by Salesians of Don Bosco. The college has students from various states of India particularly from the North East Indian region and caters to different cultural backgrounds, religions, and ethnic groups. DBCG looks after every section of the society and give special focus on the education of the tribal young people and their empowerment in all domains of life. Though the college caters to all ethnic groups, the majority of the students belong to the most economically backward tribal groups of Adivasi tribe.
The college is at its best for the last 7 years. It is accredited with B+ on 6th September 2022 by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which was established in 1994 as an autonomous institution of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Don Bosco College Golaghat is affiliated to the University of Dibrugarh in the state of Assam. The University has given us the direction to start UG four years course according to New Education Policy 2020 with Research in the fourth year and help the students to have development of research skills, aptitudes and discovery of higher education and discovery of new facts. We are moving from milestone to milestone of success in providing education, empowerment opportunities and creating holistic formation for young people in India particularly in Northeast Indian Region. Therefore, the college Research and Publication Department has decided to begin a college journal and the name of the journal is Don Bosco International Journal of Humanities and Social Science.
