Don Bosco College, Golaghat NCC unit organized NCC pipping ceremony to celebrate and honor the NCC cadets for their selfless dedication, service and practicing the values of NCC. It was organized on 30th September, 2026 at the College assembly hall from 13.30 hours onward.
Objectives:
1. To elevate and reward NCC cadets who have shown exemplary character, service and have cultivated the values of NCC in their life during the last one year.
2. To motivate NCC Cadets to excel at all level and always stand for truth, honesty, unity and integrity of the nation.
3. To remind the NCC Cadets that badges worn on their shoulder are not just mere badge but the roles and responsibilities as cadets for the welfare and contributing in making India “Vikshit Bharat” by 2024.
4. To motivate NCC Non-Rank holders that they too are equally capable of extending leadership service to the society.
The program was graced by the presence of Officer Commanding Lt. Col S Zamkhoulun, 74 Assam Girls (I) Coy NCC, Administrative Officer Lt. Col Tongong Konyak, 12 Assam Battalion NCC Golaghat, Vice Principal (Academics) Sr. Dr Reena George, 2 Junior Commanding Officers Nb Sub Mintu Nath & Manohar Gurung, ANO Lt. John Kisku, CTO Gauravi Rajkhowa, 4 PI Staffs, 70 NCC cadets and around 50 NSS volunteers.
CTO Gauravi Rajkhowa welcomed the dignitaries, guest and cadets to the auspicious Pipping ceremony. She highlighted the major achievements of Don Bosco College, Golaghat NCC cadets and shared the good practices of the Institution.
NCC Officer Commanding, Vice principal, ANO, CTO and JCOs put the NCC Ranks with pride on the shoulder of the cadets. A total of 19 NCC Cadets, 10 SD & 9 SW received the rank of Senior Under Officer (SUO), Under Officer (UO), Seargeant (SGT), Corporal (CPL) and Lance Corporal (L. CPL). Philip Topno became the college NCC Leader for the session 2026-2027 receiving the rank of SUO, Gracy Bando & Prakash Barjo receiving the rank of UO, Rajat Surin & Jenima Lakra receiving the rank of SGT and others the rank of CPL and L.CPL.
OC S Zamkhoulun in his address appreciated and congratulated the rank holders for their achievement of ranks which is been earned by them through the rigorous training and overall leadership. He asked them be a better version of themselves whom the society and nation can rely upon. He further stressed that ranks and promotions are been given only to those who have proved themselves and can be reliable.
Administrative Officer Lt. Col Tongong Konyak reminded cadets the motto, aims and objectives of NCC. He very clearly announced that NCC Rank/badge are not just ordinary badge, rather it is the roles and responsibilities of uplifting fellow cadets, initiating change, formulating good practices and bringing socio- political and economic development through NCC.
Outcomes:
1. The cadets received insights from the officers which will motivate them to be more disciplinedcadets.
2. The other non-rank holders and freshers got oriented with NCC values- leadership, moral character, discipline, punctuality, service and different activities that are held in NCC.
3. The college NSS volunteers also got the opportunity to witness the pipping ceremony, insights from the NCC officers to be responsible citizens.
The program came to end at 14. 30 hours with taking oath of leadership and service, which was followed by vote of thanks.
