On the occasion of International Women’s Day, celebrated on 8th March, the NSS volunteers organized a community engagement program to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene among women and adolescent girls. The program aimed to educate participants about the proper use and safe disposal of sanitary pads, promoting better health and hygiene practices.

The program was conducted in a friendly and interactive environment where NSS volunteers actively engaged with the community members. During the session, a demonstration was carried out on how to properly use sanitary pads. The demonstration was led by NSS volunteer Limka, who clearly explained the steps involved in using sanitary pads correctly. She also guided the participants on hygienic practices during menstruation and emphasized the importance of maintaining personal cleanliness.

In addition, the session included a practical demonstration on the safe and proper disposal of used sanitary pads to ensure environmental cleanliness and prevent health hazards. The participants were encouraged to ask questions and share their concerns, making the program informative and engaging.

At the end of the awareness session, sanitary pads were distributed among the women and girls present in the community. This initiative aimed to support menstrual health management and ensure that the participants had access to basic sanitary products.

The program was successful in spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene and breaking the stigma associated with menstruation. The community members appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers and actively participated in the session. Such initiatives play an important role in promoting health awareness and empowering women in the community.

Overall, the program was meaningful and impactful, reflecting the spirit of service and social responsibility upheld by the NSS volunteers.
