The Career Club of Don Bosco College, Golaghat, in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, organized a special lecture programme on “FYUGP and Its Future Perspectives” on 9th September 2025 at 2.30 p.m at the College Campus. The event featured Dr. Prakash Basumatary, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Furkating College (Autonomous), Golaghat as the resource person. The programme began with an introductory address by Dr. Piyali Dutta, Coordinator of the Career Club, who welcomed the gathering and introduced the theme of the session. Followed by Merina Lakra, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology introduce the resource person.
Dr. Basumatary delivered an engaging lecture, sharing valuable insights on the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP). He explained its major characteristics, academic relevance, and the challenges of implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. His talk helped participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the scope and implications of FYUGP. An in-depth discussion followed the lecture, during which students actively participated and clarified their doubts on different aspects of NEP 2020 and FYUGP. Dr. A. Amaladoss, Principal of Don Bosco College, Golaghat also addressed the audience and shed light on various issues related to NEP 2020. This interactive session added greater depth and made the programme more enriching for the participants.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Limka Bongrungpi, a third-semester student of the Department of Political Science. Overall, the lecture proved to be highly informative and thought-provoking, offering students valuable perspectives on the future of higher education reforms.
