One-Day SWAYAM Outreach Workshop on Integration and Implementation of SWAYAM Courses in Universities and their Affiliated Colleges was held on March 8, 2025 at P.D. Hall, Gauhati University, Guwahatiand it was organized by Gauhati University in association with SWAYAM and UGC.
Dr. A. Amaladoss from Don Bosco College, Golaghat participated in the One-Day SWAYAM Outreach Workshop organized by Guwahati University in collaboration with SWAYAM and the University Grants Commission (UGC). The workshop focused on the integration and implementation of SWAYAM courses in universities and their affiliated colleges, emphasizing their role under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Workshop Details
The event commenced at 9:00 AM with registration and high tea, followed by a formal inauguration involving the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr.Amit Kumar Verma from Bureau ABC and NAD, UGC, New Delhi, while Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, was the Guest of Honour.
Key Highlights
The workshop was structured into multiple sessions focusing on various aspects of SWAYAM courses: Welcome Address and Remarks delivered by the Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University while remarks by officials from UGC and the Department of State Higher Education. There were many presentations such as Presentation on SWAYAM by Joint Secretary (TEL), Ministry of Education; presentation on SWAYAM for Higher Education Institutions, focusing on credit transfer and examination frameworks and demonstration of the SWAYAM University Dashboard by NPTEL. Lastly Presentation on SWAYAM Plus by IIT-Madras.
Interactive Sessions:
Question-and-answer sessions addressing issues related to SWAYAM courses, examination frameworks, credit transfers, and university dashboards. Discussion was held on the Importance of SWAYAM courses under NEP 2020 were highlighted by DS (TEL), Ministry of Education. Concluding Remarks delivered by the SWAYAM Nodal Officer of Guwahati University while vote of thanks presented by the Registrar of Guwahati University.
