One Day National Workshop on Research Methodology and Proposals organized at Don Bosco College Golaghat
11.03.2025- A One Day National Workshop on Research Methodology and Proposals was organized by the Research and Publication Cell along with the collaboration of Department of Political Science on 11th of March 2025 at Don Bosco College, Golaghat. The workshop was conducted in Manilo Research Centre of the college. Students, researchers, faculty members of various colleges, universities participated in the national level workshop.
The day began with spot registrations forthe workshop commencing at 9.00 a.m. Nazia Rahman, Assistant Professor and H.O.D of the Department of English, hosted the workshop, welcoming everyone and introducing the agenda for the day. It was followed by the lighting of the lamp and a welcome address delivered by Dr. Fr. A. Amaladoss, Principal of Don Bosco College, Golaghat. Dr. TapanSaikia, Associate Professor and Research Co-ordinator, Birangana Sati SadhaniRajyikVishwavidyalaya graced the occasion by his valuable presence and delivered the key note address. A book titled “Empowering the Nation: Enhancing Financial Literacy for a Prosperous Future” was also released during the inaugural session.
The workshop had three sessions. The resource person for the first session was Dr. Fr. Anto Paul, Principal,North East Instituteof Social Sciences and Research Dimapur, Nagaland. He delivered a very enlightening speech on the topic “Basics of Social Science Research.” He discussed on various concepts such as characteristics of Social Science Research, the various steps of doing research, variables and its various types etc.
Professor, Yatindra Singh Sisodia, Director, M.P Institute of Social Science Research, Autonomous Institute of ICSSR, Ministry of Education, New Delhi was the resource person for the second technical session. He presented his valuable insights on the topic “Basic Tenets of Research and Developing Effective Research Proposals. He shared his information on the subject matter such as the characteristics of good research, research qualities and skills and also interacted with the scholars and students encouraging them for writing research proposals.
The topic for the third technical session was “How to write review articles? A comprehensive guide.” Dr. PiyaliDutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Scienceand Research Coordinator of Don Bosco College, Golaghat presented a very informative lecture elaborating on how to write review articles, publish in journals ,and present them into ISBN publications.
The Valedictory function was marked by the gracious presence of Dr. BulbuliBoruah, Principal, HemoProvaBorbora Girl’s College, Golaghat as the Chief Guest. She delivered her words and distributed the certificates to the participants for their active participation. The workshop was very informative and enriching. The workshop came to an end with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. PiyaliDutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and Research Coordinator of Don Bosco College, Golaghat
