21st June 2025: The Yoga Celebration at Don Bosco College Golaghat was organized with great enthusiasm and reverence on 21st June 2025 by the Yoga Club in collaboration with the Department of Education and IQAC. The program commenced with a soulful morning prayer that set a calm and serene tone for the day’s events. This invocation of peace marked an auspicious beginning and helped the participants centre themselves for the activities ahead. Following the prayer, the distinguished Chief Guest, Mrs Bani Hazarika Saikia, was warmly felicitated by the Mrigakhi Goswami, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, as a token of appreciation for gracing the occasion. The felicitation was marked by a sense of gratitude and respect, acknowledging the Chief Guest’s valuable contribution to the field of yoga and wellness.
Thereafter the Principal of the College, Dr. Fr. A. Amaladoss then addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech. The Principal underlined the role of yoga in nurturing a disciplined, stress-free, and healthy lifestyle, especially for students facing academic pressures. The speech emphasized the importance of adopting yoga not just as an activity, but as a way of life that brings long-term benefits. The highlight of the event continued with a theme presentation delivered by Ms. Lymka Bongronpi, a student of Department of Political Science. The presentation focused on this year’s International Yoga Day theme, emphasizing the importance of integrating yoga into daily life to maintain balance and harmony amid modern day challenges. The audience was enlightened on how yoga is not merely a physical exercise but a comprehensive discipline that fosters mental clarity, emotional stability, and spiritual growth.
The Chief Guest took the stage to share insightful thoughts on the essence of yoga following the speech. Drawing from years of personal experience and professional expertise, the Chief Guest elaborated on yoga’s relevance in contemporary times, especially in maintaining mental well-being amidst growing global stress levels. The Chief Guest’s words resonated deeply with the audience, many of whom expressed renewed motivation to pursue yoga seriously. A speech highlighting the significance of yoga was delivered by Ms. Roselina Minj, a student of Department of Political Science. A practical demonstration of various yoga poses by the Chief Guest followed. The session included demonstrations of fundamental asanas, accompanied by detailed explanations of their benefits on physical posture, flexibility, respiratory function, and mental focus. Participants attentively observed and followed along, experiencing the immediate calming and invigorating effects of the practice. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Urmika, a student of Department of Commerce. She expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, the Principal, faculty members, participants, and the organizing committee for their contributions towards making the event a grand success. Special appreciation was extended to all those who worked diligently behind the scenes to ensure smooth coordination and execution of the program. Overall, the Yoga Celebration at Don Bosco College proved to be a highly enriching and inspiring event.
