Don Bosco College, Golaghat : Finance, Women and Child Development Minister, Smt. Ajanta Neog inaugurated the 1st and 2nd floor of Academic Arts Building, Computer Lab and Solar Panel Power Plant on 12 November 2022. The program was organized by the Don Bosco College management and Student’s Forum under the leadership of Rev. Fr. A. Amaladoss, SDB, Vice Principal of Don Bosco College, Golaghat. Chairperson of Golaghat Municipality, Mrs. Dulumoni Borbora attended the inauguration ceremony among many well-wishers, fathers, sisters, friends and special invitees. Representatives of two school students also witnessed the historical event. The event started at 10.30 am with the cutting of ribbon by Smt. Ajanta Neog followed by chief guest speech and cultural program.

Panna Memorial Quiz Competition
22nd November 2022 : Assistant Professor, Sir Bhaskar Gohain and Miss Pronita Tirkey had organized the Panna Memorial Quiz contest for three consecutive days. The preliminary round was held on 2nd of November with 50 participants, which was held in the written format consisting of 50 questions. The second round was conducted on the next day which was on 3rd November, where 32 students had participated after elimination and this was also in the written format consisting of 30 questions.4th November was the final leg of the quiz competition and had three rounds with 16 contestants. 32 contestants were presented with T-Shirts by Fr. Bimal Lakra with the pictures of Mr. Panna and Mrs. Panna along with the logo of Panna Memorial Quiz Competition printed on its back and front. The T shirts were distributed by Fr. Bimal Lakra and the final round of the quiz competition was conducted. All the 16-contestant selected for the final round were asked to wear the T-Shirts during the competition.The first round was hosted by Assistant Professor Sir Bhaskar with 50 questions and the next round was a direct question round conducted by Miss Pronita Tirkey, while the final round was hosted by Sir Bhaskar. Maria Indwar from the Department of Political Science was declared as the winner after a tough and a bitter competition between the candidates while it was difficult to select amongst them winners for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions because they had secured same points. Therefore, another round was held to select winners for 2nd 3rd and 4th positions which was followed by Fr. Bimal’s typical questionnaire round. At last Jacob Kujur was selected for the 2nd position followed by Bijoy Baraik for the 3rd and Moheet Orang for the 4th position.The Panna Memorial Quiz Competition came to an end with the distribution of cash prizes to the top 4 winners of the competition with Rs. 6000 for the 1st position, Rs. 5000 for the 2nd, Rs. 4000 for the 3rd and Rs. 3000 for the 4th position. After the distribution of the cash prizes the day came to an end with a photo session with all the contestants present for the final leg of the quiz.Related posts

Benefactors visit to Don Bosco College Golaghat
17th February 2023 : The entire Don Bosco College, Golaghat was extremely delightful to have most valued and honoured guests, Mr. Lenk Christoph and Miss. Whoehrle Magdalena, who came all the way long from Germany along with the former Vice-principal, Fr. Bimal Lakra.
The Department of Political Science organized a short programme for the guests. The programme was hosted by Albius Kullu, a student of 6th semester of the Department of Political Science. He took the lead and guided the students of the Department to the morning assembly where the gathering then stood for seeking the blessings of God almighty, followed by the news headlines. The IQAC coordinator, Sr. Sheela Paul, warmly welcomed the gathering with her fascinating words. It was followed by a brief presentation of the Don Bosco Merit Scholarship by John Barjo, a student of 6th semester from the Department of Political Science.
The guests were given invited to address the assembly. They encouraged the students to work hard and to be self-dependent. The benefactors, Mr. Lenk Christoph and Miss Whoehrle Magdalena, then thanked the gathering including the IQAC coordinator, Sr. Dr. Sheela Paul; Rector Fr. Joseph Kindo; the faculty members; students and other officials for their active support in the upliftment and progress of this college. Aman Horo proposed the votes of thanks on behalf of the entire scholarship receiving students. Lastly, the vote of thanks from the College was proposed by Priyanka Tirkey, a student of 4th semester of the Department of Political Science.

Written Exam for Various Grade Iii (Non-technical) Assam Health Services Dhs/ Dhs(Fw), Dme, D-ayush in Don Bosco College, Golaghat.
On 12th February, 2023 the Grade III Exam (Non-Technical) for various posts under ASSAM HEALTH SERVICES DHS/ DHS (FW), DME, D-AYUSH was held in Don Bosco College, Golaghat the guidance of District Administration Golaghat. The Designated Officer was Md. Mukhter Hussain who helped during the entire duration of the exam. The District Administration provided the personnel for security check of the candidates who arrived for exam. Our College was allotted with the Centre Code GT-11 with 450 candidates. The Centre-In-Charge along with the Assistant Centre-In-Charges took over the initiative to oversee the exam. The invigilators were assigned their respective classes. Out of 450 allotted candidates only 195 turned out with 2 candidates of PwD Category. The exam materials were bought and taken back under the custody District Circle Officer Khumtai. The exam began on 11:00 am and ended at 12:30 pm as per the schedule given by the ASSAM HEALTH SERVICES DHS/ DHS(FW), DME, D-AYUSH.

Webinar on Interview Techniques
On 10th February, 2023. A program on Interview Techniques was organised by Training and placement cell of the college in collaboration will Don Bosco Placement Network India. The session focus on the key aspect of facing the interview panel. Total of 84 students attended the session. The session was conducted on Zoom Platform for the sixth semester students. The students were able to gather valuable knowledge to confidently face the interview panel.

International Wetlands Day 2023
2nd Fed 2023: International Wetlands Day was observed in our college by the members of Rotaract Club of Don Bosco College Golaghat in collaboration with Rotary Club of Golaghat.The progamme started at 9am with the welcoming of the members of Rotary Club of Golaghat.The members present were Dr.Minuara Begum (Secretary of Rotary Club of Golaghat), Mr.Sadiqur Rahman, Rtn Reena Jallan, Rtn Archana Bora, Rtn Kumud Saikia and Rtn Buli Gogoi . The massage was given by Dr .Minuara Begum, where she highlighted the importance of wetlands and the ways we can conserve the Mother Nature. She gave awareness on global protection of wetland because these water bodies bring good ecological health to not only water bodies but also to the environment as a whole. At last she also mentioned about the deepor beel, situated to the south-west of Guwahati city, in Kamrup Metropolitan district of Assam. It is a permanent freshwater lake also colled as wetland under the Ramsar Convention which has listed the lake as a Ramsar site in Asaam

Dr. Sr. Sheela Paul HOD in the Department of Education of Don Bosco College introduced and welcomed guests to our College specially to the Department of Education. Faculty and students of the Dept of Education were assembled in the Conference Hall. Students honoured them with Gamosha and bouquet.
Dr. Sr. Sheela Paul explained to students about the MOU signed with the Education Department of Don Bosco College and the Education Department DR College. The objective of the Memorandum of Understanding is to cooperate in educational research and extension activities in areas of mutual interest as knowledge partners.
Dr. Monisha addressed the students and expressed the readiness to collaborate with the students in any educational activities. Mrs. Leela Das appreciated students for their discipline and good behaviour in the college as she had observed them in the examination hall when the D R College was the examination centre. Dr. Chitradevi and Rajasree also expressed their interest to collaborate with all the educational and cultural activities in both colleges.
After meeting students the faculty of both colleges had discussion and planning for Even Semester. We discussed the following:

Don Bosco College, Golaghat celebrates 74th Republic Day
26th January, 2023 : The celebration of India’s 74th Republic Day was held at Don Bosco College Campus Golaghat organized by NCC and NSS Unit of the college. The National Flag was hoisted by the chief guest Rev Fr. Joseph Kindo, along with the Principal, Dr. Policarp Xalxo at 7.30 am followed by a speech from Jacob Kujur, NCC cadet and a patriotic song by the NSS members. The whole program was hoisted by Queen Shabnam Kujur, NSS member. All the teachers and the students gathered for this auspicious ceremony. In his address, Rev.
